Next Basic Course starts April 24 for six sessions. Volunteers sought to help with the disaster simulation on the final day, Saturday, May 5.

New equipment has arrived courtesy of the '09 grant, including radios, megaphones, vests, traffic wands, generators, and an engraving system to implement the new namebadge personnel accounting system.

Volunteers are needed to take training as CPR instructors. Contact virnelsonvi@cox.net

The equipment inventory is nearly complete. If you have signed out one of the ham radios, please check in with virnelsonvi@cox.net

CERT will have a float in the Memorial Day parade this year on May 28th -- mark your calendars! If you are interested in working on the float or have any suggestions, please write virnelsonvi@cox.net

Friday, May 11 is Relay for Life on the TCC-Portsmouth campus. If you are interested in joining with PARES to assist with crowd control, parking, etc., please write tlegg@cox.net

CERT refresher events are scheduled for May 19 (Incident Command tabletop exercise) and July 14 (radio use and search & rescue). Check back on the Calendar for updates.
